This is a friendly and relaxed group for anyone who supports someone with a mental health condition.
It’s a time to focus on your own wellbeing, connect with others who share similar experiences, and take part in gentle activities.
Please note: the group now meets on the last Tuesday of each month (previously the last Wednesday.)

We run two monthly support groups for unpaid carers in York, providing a space to connect, share experiences, and receive peer support from others who understand your situation.
Our Carer Support Workers and volunteers facilitate these groups and are on hand to discuss any concerns, challenges and successes related to your caring role.
We welcome any carers to the groups; if you are not registered with us, you can register during the group.
When: Wednesday 25 June, 1 – 2.30 pm

There’s no need to book. Just drop in.

Young Adult Carer Socials
Have a break from your caring role, meet other young people who live in similar circumstances, get involved, eat food and relax!
These events are for Young Adult Carers aged 18 – 25 however young carers aged 16+ are also welcome and encouraged to attend.
The Social is usually held at SPARK on the last Wednesday of the month. We have food available from the Spark Street Food Vendors from 5 – 6.30 pm and then an organised activity with guests from 6.30 – 8 pm.
You can find us on the tables at the back of the venue from 5 pm!
Arrive when you like and stay for as long as you like! Any questions please get in touch.

We run youth clubs just for young carers (aged 5 – 16 years old). We have separate groups – primary and secondary – so that young carers of the same age can be
together.
When: Tuesday 1 July , 5 – 6.30 pm
The youth clubs give young carers a break and a chance to spend time with other young people who live in similar circumstances.
We enjoy arts and crafts, baking, drama, sports, music and Xbox!
We’ve got lots of fun activities planned for the summer. These include a trip to Dalby Forest, cooking sessions, a visit to Oxygen, and another Forest School session.

This group is for anyone supporting someone with a mental health condition, offering a break from caring responsibilities and a chance to connect with other carers.
Some sessions feature guest speakers, while others focus on providing mutual support and sharing coping strategies.
New members are always welcome.
This group is run in partnership with Rethink Mental Illness York Group.
When: Wednesday 9 July, 7 – 8.45 pm

There is no need to book, just drop-in.

Our creative workshops are continuing, and we’d love for you to join us. We will be using creative writing, art, music and performance to explore feelings of grief and loss.
Matt from Next Door but One theatre group will be facilitating the workshops, and we welcome all loss experiences; from bereavements to changes in identity, the loss of a relationship, the loss of a job and everything in-between.
You are welcome to come to one or all the workshops. Each workshop will have a different theme, and staff from York Carers Centre will be on hand to support and join in.
Sessions will be ongoing until December 2025.
