This group is for anyone caring for someone with a mental health condition. It offers a chance to take a break from your caring role, connect with others who understand, and share experiences in a supportive environment.
Sessions vary, with some featuring guest speakers and others focusing on mutual support and coping strategies.
New members are always welcome. The group is run in partnership with Rethink Mental Illness York Group.
When: Second Wednesday of the month: 14 January, 7–8.45pm
Topic of discussion: Positive planning for the year ahead.

If someone else’s drug or alcohol use or gambling is impacting your life, you’re not alone. We run supportive, non-judgmental groups for anyone affected by these issues.

Join us for chat, games, banter, support and maybe a special guest or two. Its a drop-in so that means you can arrive when you can and stay as long as you like! The session is aimed at and accessible to male young adult carers and young adult carers who identify as male. The session is also open and welcome to all young adult carers however they identify.

Professionals are invited to this training, to learn about the support available for unpaid carers in York.
The training will help build understanding of:
• the role of carers
• the effect this role has on their lives
It’s also an opportunity to explore how professionals can:
• help identify carers early
• recognise carers as ‘partners’ in care
• help carers look after their own health and wellbeing

We run youth clubs for young carers aged 5–16, with separate groups for primary and secondary ages to keep activities age appropriate.
The youth clubs give young carers a break and a chance to spend time with other young people who live in similar circumstances. We enjoy arts and crafts, baking, drama, sports, music and Xbox!
