Northern Soul Night Raises Vital Funds to Support Young Carers

York Carers Centre supporters Lisa and Kev Bainbridge, along with dedicated fundraiser Mick Burnett, hosted a fantastic Northern Soul charity night at Bishopthorpe Sports & Social Club on Saturday 8 February 2025. The event was held in support of the Lynn Burnett Memorial Fund.
The event brought together over 100 local soul enthusiasts in support of a fantastic cause. Tickets were £10, and they also put together an exciting raffle packed with fantastic prizes.
Lisa expressed her joy in raising funds for the Young Carers team at York Carers Centre, as they have supported one of her grandchildren for several years.
“You have always been there for her, so I am very happy to be there for you.”
The event was a huge success and raised a magnificent £1,245.
Charlotte Ledgard, Fundraising Officer at York Carers Centre went on to say “A huge thank you to Mick, Lisa and Kev for generously giving their time and energy to fundraise for us, and to everyone who purchased tickets for the event.
We are incredibly grateful! I was absolutely thrilled to be invited along and to meet such an enthusiastic and warm group of people – it truly was a privilege. The funds raised will go directly towards supporting activities for Young Carers, making their summer extra special and enabling us to organise even more opportunities for them. We couldn’t be happier!”
A heartfelt thank you to Bishopthorpe Sports & Social Club for generously providing the venue free of charge, and to everyone who donated prizes for the raffle – we truly appreciate your support!
