Young Adult Carer: Monthly Social (YACstars)

17/07/2024 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Spark York, 17-21 Picadilly, York

Social Activities for Young Adult Carers

Our Young Adult Carers (YACs) service offers age-appropriate advice and social activities. The social activities are tailored towards people aged 18 to 25 and we encourage anyone aged 16+ to attend.

The social activities provide a break from caring responsibilities and a chance to meet up with other young people who live in similar circumstances.

The YACs drop-in / social is on the last Wednesday of the month.

YACstars

The YACs team are currently running a project called YACstars which is a series of employability sessions designed to equip young adult carers with skills and knowledge to help them navigate the job market, such as finding a job, getting a job, keeping a job and thriving at work.

The training is delivered through a series of six evening workshops. Guest speakers with lived experience come along to share inspiring success stories too.

When: When: Wednesday 17 July, 5 – 8 pm

Where: SPARK York CIC, 17 – 21 Piccadilly, York YO1 9PB

People are free to arrive and leave at any time during the sessions.

Access to an Enablement Fund is available to cover the costs of interviews and other essentials.

Give @yacsyork a follow on Instagram to see what they get up to or send them a DM to find out more. Alternatively, call York Carers Centre on 01904 715 490 or email enquiries@ yorkcarerscentre.co.uk
