Be part of community arts with York Learning
Want to be part of a community arts project?
Anyone in York can get involved in York Learning’s current Community Arts project, entitled “The Place Where I Live” which asks local people to draw a section of York’s “Map”.
It is simply a large map of York, split into small A5 pieces. If you’d like to be involved you can request one of the A5 sections to be sent to you.
After receiving your section through the post (which will have the relevant roads and rivers pre-traced onto it) you’ll be asked to complete your work in black fine liner only. York Learning can supply one if you need it.
You do not have to be an accomplished artist to take part, completing your section using pattern only is completely fine!
To take part please get in touch with Claire at York Learning: claire.douglas@york.gov.uk or call 07990 774420.
York Learning are hoping to run some in-person workshops to create the sections in July/August, and until then are happy to post pieces out after either meeting participants over Zoom or speaking on the phone.
