Siemens Electrification take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge for York Carers Centre

Scott Goldsmith, Project Manager at Siemens Electrification, along with friends, colleagues, and trusted partners Caztec Group Ltd and Edmundson Electrical Ltd Mansfield will take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge on Wednesday 7 August to raise money for York Carers Centre.

Scott Goldsmith, the event organiser, said “It’s just a few days to go until we tackle the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge, we’re keeping an eye on the weather! We can’t wait to face this challenge and raise much-needed funds for this incredible charity that support unpaid carers in York.

Caring for a friend or family member due to frailty, physical or mental illness, addiction, or disability, can be mentally and physically exhausting. We aim to make a meaningful difference to the lives of unpaid carers who put someone else’s needs above their own daily.

We are just over 50% of the way towards our £5000 fundraising goal and would appreciate any donations from our network and the wider community.

We are immensely grateful to Edmundson Electrical Ltd Mansfield for their substantial sponsorship and a massive shoutout to Caztec Group Ltd for sponsoring our branded clothing too.”

The walk will commence at 6.30am on Wednesday 7 August, starting at Horton-in-Ribblesdale. The team of 21 (Scott G, Liam B, Connor M, Sam D, Ryan O, Max C, Jake A, Adam C, Dylan T, Gemma W, Jonno M, Dave W, Henry A, Ed C, Ollie W, Myles P, Owen M, Tom O, Rich J, Dean H and Iain R) will undertake the challenge – covering approximately 25 miles, typically completed in 10 to 12 hours.

Brenden Carr from the Caztec Group says “The Caztec Group are delighted to be able to support a brilliant charity (York Carers Centre)… Siemens are a first class company who Caztec have worked with for many years. Once they told us what they were doing for charity we were happy to help out. Hopefully this is just the beginning…”

Sharron Smith, CEO of York Carers Centre, expresses her gratitude, saying, “It’s amazing that this group of fundraisers have come together to support our work and raise much-needed funds for our charity. We genuinely appreciate it and wish them the best of luck. As a charity, our resources are stretched and our services pushed to maximum capacity. Fundraisers like this make a dramatic difference in what we can afford to do to support unpaid carers. We’re so grateful for the support.”
