Young Adult Carer: Monthly Social (YACstars)
Social Activities for Young Adult Carers
Our Young Adult Carers (YACs) service offers age-appropriate advice and social activities. The social activities are tailored towards people aged 18 to 25 and we encourage anyone aged 16+ to attend.
The social activities provide a break from caring responsibilities and a chance to meet up with other young people who live in similar circumstances.
The YACs drop-in / social is on the last Wednesday of the month.
YACstars
The YACs team are currently running a project called YACstars which is a series of employability sessions designed to equip young adult carers with skills and knowledge to help them navigate the job market, such as finding a job, getting a job, keeping a job and thriving at work.
The training is delivered through a series of six evening workshops. Guest speakers with lived experience come along to share inspiring success stories too.
When: Wednesday 28 August, 5 – 8 pm
Where: SPARK York CIC, 17-21 Piccadilly, York YO1 9PB
People are free to arrive and leave at any time during the sessions.
