Receptionist/Admin Assistant

22.5 hours per week

(to be worked on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays)

Salary: £18,933 per annum pro rata (NJC SCP4)

York Carers Centre is an independent charity that helps unpaid carers in York find the support they need.  We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, experienced, highly organised Receptionist/Admin Assistant to manage our busy reception. The successful candidate will provide a warm, friendly welcome and a professional confidential service to carers and visitors both in person and over the telephone.

This is a varied and challenging role which involves providing a listening ear to carers in need.  The post holder will possess excellent communication and customer care skills with a confident and empathetic approach towards carers. They will have an ability to work under pressure and prioritise own workload.  It is expected that the candidate will offer support to carers through a range of communications; providing information, signposting/referring to other services, alongside handling enquiries and ensuring messages and referrals are passed to the team in a timely and effective manner.

This is a multi-skilled role involving reception and general administrative duties and we are looking for a team player with a “can do” approach, excellent IT skills and high levels of attention to detail and accuracy.  Some flexibility will be required to work additional hours from time to time.
