FUNDRAISER
FUNDRAISER
22.5 hours per week
Salary: £25,979 per annum pro rata
Fixed term contract for 3 years funded by the National Lottery
About our cause:
Carers are people who provide regular, unpaid help to someone close to them living with frailty, physical or mental illness, addiction or disability.
Here at York Carers Centre (YCC), we want all unpaid carers to live their best possible lives in a world that recognises and values their contribution to society.
We’re committed to making this change happen. We won’t stop until all unpaid carers have equality and can access the support they need, when they need it.
The Role:
Funded by the National Lottery, this role is new for YCC, coming at a key point in our organisational development.
Whether you’re an experienced fundraiser or new to the business, to be successful in this role you’ll need to be passionate about support for carers and the need for change, either through your own lived experience as a carer or through your ability to empathise with people in unpaid caring roles.
Either way, you’ll need to be able to communicate effectively with a range of audiences and be a quick learner when it comes to giving people the best possible opportunities to give and fundraise in support of our vision for unpaid carers.
There are no formal qualifications for this role. Experience of fundraising is desirable, but we also recognise the value of skills developed in other jobs and aspects of life. Applications are equally welcome from candidates with appropriate transferrable skills looking to move to a deeply rewarding role with a cause for vital social change.
If you feel you have the skills and abilities required to secure the income we need to support more unpaid carers, then we’d love to hear from you.
In return we’ll offer you:
- The opportunity to make a notable contribution to our work in making a difference to the lives of carers in York
- A friendly fun supportive working environment
- Generous Annual Leave
- Great flexible hybrid working options
- Learning and development opportunities and the support of an external fundraising mentor
- Contributory pension scheme
The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
