Come to a Carers Hub
Come and see us for a chat at one of our friendly Carer Hubs over summer.
We’ll be running a mix of some ‘in-person’ hubs around the city, and some online, to make sure there is something for everyone.
Please get in touch with us to book your place on any of the hubs: 01904 715 190 or email@example.com
These hubs will be in closed venues, rather than drop-in venues, for now. This is to ensure the hubs are as Covid-safe as possible. Please do book in advance to attend the in-person hubs, even if it is just a day or two before. The hubs will be an opportunity for a supportive chat with staff and other carers, and a celebration of coming back together, with some nice refreshments!
You’re welcome to any or all of the hubs no matter where you live in York, and you’re welcome to bring the person you care for too.
- Haxby: Thursday 29 July from 11am to 12pm at Oaken Grove Community Centre, Haxby
- City Centre: Wednesday 11 August from 3 to 4pm at a City Centre venue (venue TBC)
- Clifton: Tuesday 14 September from 6 to 7pm at York Youth Hostel (Harris Room), Clifton.
Our supportive online hubs will have a different topic per month, with a guest speaker or activity. There will also be time for you to chat with other carers and our staff. If you need help to join online events, please let us know.
Here’s what we have each month:
How to avoid being scammed
North Yorkshire Police will be holding an informative session on staying safe online as a carer, and avoiding scams. When: Wednesday 14 July from 2.45 to 4pm and also Tuesday 20 July from 6.45 to 8pm.
It’s not always easy to find the time to prepare nourishing snacks when you’re always on the go, so join us at this practical session where we’ll be preparing different, healthy no-cook snacks, with all the ingredients provided. When: Tuesday 17 August from 6.45 to 8pm and also Thursday 26 August from 10.15 to 11.30am.
Join us for a chat and a spot of relaxed horticulture at our seed-planting sessions in partnership with St Nicks Ecotherapy. When: Wednesday 8 September from 2.45 to 4pm and also Thursday 30 September from 10.15 to 11.30am.
